What it means to be a CSP

LaDonna received the CERTIFIED SPEAKING PROFESSIONAL (CSP) designation at the 2002 National Speakers Association (NSA) convention in Orlando, Florida.

What is the CSP?
The CSP is an earned designation awarded
by the National Speakers Association. Fewer than 500 professional speakers worldwide hold a CSP designation.

7 Objectives a CSP must complete:

  • Maintain membership in NSA for 3 consecutive years and subscribe to the Code of Professional Ethics
  • Submit names of 100 different clients to whom they have presented in the past 5 years
  • Submit a list of 250 speaking engagements for which they have been paid a professional fee during the previous 5 years with a minimum of 20 presentations per year
  • Submit a significant number of testimonial letters from clients who recommend them as a professional speaker
  • Continue education in the field of professional speaking through NSA Workshops, earning a minimum of 30 educational units every 5 years
  • Submit professionally prepared promotional materials
  • Be recertified by NSA every 5 years

Why should you hire a CSP?
The success of your meeting or conference will be judged largely on the caliber, professionalism and appropriateness of the topic and presenter(s) you select. Choosing a CSP maximizes your opportunity of providing a speaker with a proven track record.
